G'day from British Columbia

Practise OT. Live the mountains.

A different kind of OT career for Australian occupational therapists, in one of the most beautiful corners of the world. No billing targets. No KPIs. Just meaningful work, and a lifestyle to match.

The pitch

Trade the grind for mountain air and meaningful work

If you're an OT in Australia wondering whether there's a better way, there is. It's just on the other side of the Pacific.

CTC is an employee-owned community rehabilitation company across British Columbia and Alberta, founded by OTs and built on a simple idea: people before profit. Clinicians are trusted to do the work properly, supported by strong admin and real mentorship, and free from billing targets.

It also means a life outside work that feels like a life. BC is mountains, lakes, ski hills, world-class trails, and small communities where people still wave at each other.

Why CTC

Three things that actually matter

People before profitNo billing targets. No KPIs. No quotas. Just the freedom to deliver the care your clients need, supported by a team that has done this work for years.
A lifestyle that deliversSki before work. Paddleboard after. Spend your weekends in some of the best mountains, lakes and national parks in the world.
Real investment in youEmployee owned, with unlimited PD, genuine mentorship and hands-on relocation support: visas, licensing and settling in. Once you're working with us in Canada, CTC reimburses your SEAS assessment and registration fees.

The work

Two paths. One team.

Many of our OTs blend both. We'll help you build the caseload that fits.

Adults in the communityHome visits, workplace assessments and community-based rehab. Neuro, MSK, return to work and home health, with work referred by WorkSafeBC, ICBC, Canada Life and other funders. No two days look the same.
Kids in the clinicPlay-based, family-centred pediatric practice in a dedicated clinic space. Developmental goals, fine motor, sensory regulation and school readiness.

How the move works for Aussie OTs

The full guide to working in Canada

Your visa

Australian citizens can use the IEC Working Holiday. Employer-supported work permits and provincial routes to permanent residency are also open. We connect you with a registered immigration consultant who matches you to the right route.

Your registration

Complete SEAS through ACOTRO, then register with the BC or Alberta college. Organized applicants usually finish in around 18 months, and BC's provisional licensure lets you practise under supervision before the national exam. CTC reimburses SEAS and registration fees once you are working with us in Canada.

Settling in

A pre-arrival briefing, a car for your first month, help finding a home through our local contacts, and help with your bank account, Social Insurance Number and health card.
