Creative Therapy Consultants (CTC) is a community rehabilitation company. Our occupational therapists, kinesiologists, counsellors and vocational rehabilitation staff help people regain function and independence at home, in the community and, where possible, at work.
Contracted provider for WorkSafeBC, ICBC and long-term disability insurers. BC's longest-standing therapist-owned practice, and now employee owned.

Our roots
CTC was built on the belief that healthcare can be done differently: a company where skilled clinicians are valued for their work and have a say in where the organization goes next.
Creative Therapy Consultants was founded in 1986 by occupational therapist Hilary Drummond and is employee owned. It has 12 offices: Penticton (head office), Kelowna, Kamloops, Castlegar, Cranbrook, Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Prince George, Terrace, Williams Lake and Calgary. Its more than 80 clinicians and staff include occupational therapists, kinesiologists, counsellors, vocational rehabilitation consultants and rehabilitation assistants, serving the Okanagan, Thompson, Kootenays, Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Cariboo and northern BC, and Calgary and southern Alberta.
CTC is a registered BC ESOP (Employee Share Ownership Plan) company, one of the only ones in healthcare. Over 30 team members own shares. Ownership gives every team member a voice and a stake in the work, which builds accountability, collaboration and a shared purpose.
We don't bring in outside businesspeople to run the company. We send our own clinical leaders to universities like UBC and McGill to build their business skills, so the focus stays on good care.
We also invest in the communities we work in: through therapy, through volunteer work, and by taking services to rural and northern areas that are often underserved.

Leadership
Kelly Evans
Kelly (BHKin, MSc OT) has practised as an occupational therapist since 2012 and joined CTC in 2014, with a particular interest in older adults and practical solutions to everyday barriers. As CEO she runs the company day to day.
Nadia Hudon
Nadia (MSc OT) bought into CTC in 2020. She has more than a decade of experience in complex rehabilitation, expert testimony and clinical leadership, and has been qualified as an Expert Witness by the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Nadia Hudon and David McInerney own the company and set its strategy. Kelly Evans runs day-to-day operations as CEO.
Our history
1986
Hilary Drummond starts Creative Therapy Consultants with another occupational therapist, providing biomechanical foot assessments, foot orthotics, hand splints and other adaptive devices. Within months the other therapist leaves and Hilary begins working with the insurance industry.
1990
Hilary leaves her hospital roles and works full time in private practice.
Early 1990s
CTC begins cost of care reports and functional assessments for lawyers, and adds programs for a range of payers in the Okanagan Valley.
2013
David McInerney and Hilary merge their companies. Services extend north and into central BC.
2016
David buys Hilary out. She stays on as a mentor to CTC therapists.
2020
Nadia Hudon buys into the company. CTC adopts the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace. Hilary retires at the end of the year after 43 years as an occupational therapist.
Today
CTC grew its services through COVID-19 and is now an employee-owned team of occupational therapists, kinesiologists, counsellors, psychologists, rehabilitation assistants and administrative staff, working from offices across BC and in Calgary.
Land acknowledgement
At Creative Therapy Consultants, we acknowledge that our offices are on "territory that is Indigenous and which has been and continues to be subject to the forces of land-based settlement" (Eve Tuck, Marcia McKenzie and Kate McCoy, 2014).
We believe it is our responsibility, as settler-descendants, to educate ourselves on the histories of colonialism. We continue to work out how to maintain relationships responsibly on the unceded territories where we live and work.
