We hold all-company retreats and team days, run in-house yoga and bootcamps, and get together socially through the year. A good team and culture take constant work from all of us.
Since 2020 we have followed the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, with a Mental Health Committee and mental health first aid training for all employees. In the four years to 2023, fewer than 5 of our 100 employees left the company, including through COVID.

Mentorship
Lifelong, on-demand mentorship and professional support from experienced clinicians, with a structured orientation when you start.
Paid education
Every team member has a professional development plan, and we pay for the education in it.
Flexible schedules
Hybrid work and control over your schedule, hours and vacation time. Paid time off, plus unpaid leave when life needs it.
Pay
Community occupational therapists: $50 to $65 an hour depending on experience, as an employee or contractor, with higher rates in our regional offices. A $2,500 sign-on bonus at all locations and relocation assistance. Pediatric OTs and kinesiologists: see each posting.

Paid counselling
We book registered clinical counselling appointments every week so any team member can get support when they need it.
Financial planning
A paid fee-only adviser builds a financial plan for each team member, with the goal that everyone can retire with dignity.
Ownership
CTC is a registered BC ESOP (Employee Share Ownership Plan) company. Over 30 team members own shares.

A structured first year with a month of orientation, a weekly mentor and a slow caseload build. Plus a scholarship for students who want to become OTs.

New grads get a structured first year: a month of orientation, a weekly mentor, a caseload that builds slowly over three months and a peer group for new OTs. Students who want to become OTs can apply for the Creative Therapy Scholarship, which comes with help paying for school, a placement and a guaranteed job.
Straight answers
Our clients are referred and funded by WorkSafeBC, ICBC, Veterans Affairs Canada, long-term disability insurers and employers. Many have complex injuries, chronic pain or mental health conditions, and many will not return to work. The goal is function and independence at home, in the community and, where possible, at work. CTC is run by clinicians and owned by its staff, and our owners say plainly that financial outcomes are not how we measure success.
You have a say in it. Our clinicians have autonomy over their schedule, hours, vacation time and caseload, with a mentor to call on when cases get complex. Billing and files run through case management software.
Honestly: longer drives, fewer local resources and a wide mix of cases, so you need to be resourceful. In return you get close relationships with clients and community, fast professional growth and a lower cost of living than Vancouver or Calgary in places like Kamloops, Castlegar and Cranbrook. Most community roles need a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's licence.
Yes. New grads join a structured orientation and get on-demand mentorship from senior clinicians. Some recent graduates in in-demand occupations can also have BC student loans forgiven; check your eligibility with StudentAid BC.

We reimburse your SEAS and registration costs once you are working with us in Canada, offer relocation assistance, and give you the same on-demand mentorship as every CTC clinician.
