What you can count on

Built for the people who make referral decisions

We understand insurance-funded rehabilitation

We have worked on insurer-funded files since the 1980s: WorkSafeBC, ICBC Enhanced Care, long-term disability, Veterans Affairs Canada and WCB-Alberta. Our clinicians know what each funder pays for, how it wants services requested and what a file needs to keep moving.

We work within authorization and scope

We deliver what you approved: the services, sessions and dates on the authorization. If the client needs something outside that scope, it comes to you as a clear request with the clinical reason, and we wait for your approval before we start.

We write objective, decision-ready reports

Findings tied to what we observed and measured, a direct answer to each question on your referral, and recommendations you can approve or decline. FCE and Cost of Future Care reports pass a dedicated quality assurance review before they reach you.

We coordinate multidisciplinary rehabilitation

Occupational therapy, kinesiology, counselling, psychology and vocational rehabilitation from one team, working to one set of goals. You deal with one provider and a named clinician on the file, not several separate clinics.

We cover urban and rural BC

Offices in Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Kamloops, Penticton, Castlegar, Cranbrook, Prince George, Terrace, Williams Lake and Calgary. Our clinicians live in the regions they serve and travel to smaller communities, from the Kootenays to Haida Gwaii and the Peace.

We work to defined response and reporting timelines

We contact the client within 1 business day of receiving your referral. Assessment, progress and discharge reports are delivered within the timelines in your funder's contract or on your referral. If a date is at risk, we tell you before it is due.

Results a funder can measure

A disability management program we built in 2002 and still run, with an independent audit of its first ten years.

Case study

Disability management for a multi-employer plan, 20 years on

The situation

A health and welfare plan covering workers at many employers in the BC Interior put its disability management out to public tender in 2002.

What we did

We won it from a large BC insurer and built the program: early contact with each member, return-to-work planning with each employer, and therapists who live in the same communities. We still run it today.

The result

An independent audit of our first ten years found claims ran shorter and cost less per member, while industry averages for both went up.

12.4%
shorter average claim duration
36%
lower cost per member, inflation adjusted
$700
per member in 2012, against $1,100 projected
