Our core service

Community rehabilitation

Community rehabilitation is rehab delivered where the client lives and works, by one coordinated team of occupational therapists, kinesiologists, counsellors and vocational rehabilitation consultants. CTC provides it across BC and in Calgary for clients referred by WorkSafeBC, ICBC, Veterans Affairs Canada, long-term disability insurers and employers, with the goal of function and independence at home, in the community and, where possible, at work.

The disciplines involved

Each discipline is one part of the same plan, so the client deals with one team rather than several providers.

Occupational therapy

Assessment of function at home, in the community and at work. Equipment, home modifications, seating, concussion and cognitive rehab, and mental health-informed activation.

Kinesiology

Movement, strength and conditioning programs, delivered one to one and typically under the direction of the occupational therapist on the file.

Counselling

Registered Clinical Counsellors offering CBT, DBT, EMDR and trauma-informed care, in person or online.

Vocational rehabilitation

Vocational assessment, transferable skills analysis, labour market research, work trials, job coaching and placement.

Rehabilitation assistants

Rehabilitation assistants in every region work with clients on the programs their therapists set, so practice happens between therapist visits.
