Nelson

Community rehabilitation in Nelson and the West Kootenay. There is no office in Nelson; our Kootenay team, based in Castlegar, visits clients here.

Occupational therapists cover Nelson, the North Shore and the Slocan Valley. We see clients at home, in the community, at work and online.

Kootenay Lake Hospital is in Nelson, and we visit clients across town from Uphill to Fairview, out the North Shore of Kootenay Lake, and up Highway 6 through the Slocan Valley to New Denver and Nakusp. Highway 31 takes us north to Kaslo. Work here leans toward health care, education, tourism, the trades and forestry, and many clients live rurally, so we plan visits around winter driving.

Clients are referred by WorkSafeBC, ICBC, Veterans Affairs Canada, long-term disability insurers, employers and lawyers. The goal is function and independence at home, in the community and, where possible, at work.

To arrange community rehabilitation in Nelson, the client's case manager, adjuster, disability insurer, employer or lawyer sends a referral to referrals@creativetherapyconsultants.ca or calls 1-888-880-3222. We contact the client within 1 business day of the referral, and the client gets their clinician's direct phone number and email. Sessions take place at home, in the community, at work or online, and the nearest CTC office is in Castlegar.
